Save time at KUL (KLIA2) and other Malaysian airports by checking in online or in the MOVE app. This guide explains exact windows, ID rules, how kiosks print tags, and what to do when something goes wrong.
Start check-in on AirAsia
| Step | Domestic | International |
|---|---|---|
| Online/app check-in closes | 60 min | 60 min |
| Bag drop closes | 60 min | 60–75 min |
| Gate closes | 20 min | 25 min |
Always follow the times printed on your boarding pass if they differ.
KLIA2 is spread out: allow time to walk from security to gates P/Q. If travelling with children or sports gear, arrive earlier than the minimums. After bag drop you’ll clear security and, for international flights, immigration.
Some routes or visa checks require counter verification. Complete online check-in if allowed, then collect a printed pass at the airport.
Names must match your passport order (Given/Surname). For typos contact support early; minor corrections can be possible before travel.
Increase brightness, zoom the wallet pass, or ask for a reprint at the gate/counter.
Leave extra buffer at KLIA2; you’ll likely need to clear immigration and re-check bags. Online check-in for the second flight helps.
Infants under two travel on a parent’s lap with a fee; add proof of age. Request wheelchairs in advance in “Manage booking”. Surfboards, bikes and golf bags require specific allowances—pre-purchase online for best prices.
